Watercolor
Playing around with generic brand watercolors
I made this.
My friend called and said she NEEDED some girlfriend time doing something creative. I invited her to come over to my studio. Here is what she came up with. I told her next time she comes over I will pull out the better water colors for her lol. I really like her painting. She also did some journaling expressing her feelings at the moment. It was definitely time well spend bonding relaxing and creating.
Thanks for looking.

Thursday
ATC
So I am stuck on the couch...I might as well make something. I used the Adinkra Symbol to make this ATC. It is called GYE NYAME it means "except for God" It is a west African symbol used especially in Ghana to represent the supremacy and omnipotence of God and fearlessness of His followers.
I used water color pencil, sharpie, charcoal 3B, water brush

Wednesday
Watercolor cards
I painted along with Tracy on Mixed Media Monday. It was a fun show. I made these three cards. I was too busy chatting so I was way behind and didn't finish my cards until the next day.

October 2013 Creative Dare
Let it go! I always hear this sentiment in art world and in church world. As a drama teacher, I am always telling my students to "be in the moment". Personally, I strive to live according to this advice. This month Tracy challenged us to create a piece journaling about what we will let go. Here is what I came up with:
I know the picture is horrible.
Journaling:
In the moment by Tina Riley
I will live life in the moment
I am very unique
like the petals on the flower
When I walk, I am like poetry in motion
My gratitude rises like a song of praise
I plan to sing it for all of my days
I am so glad that Jesus lifted me
My life is full of calm and storm,
but God guides me through all situations
All my trials will soon be over
Until then....
I will live life in the moment
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you come again soon.

Watercolor
I made this water color using the method called wet on wet. Then I sprinkled it with sea salt. This was a fun project. I also practiced mixing colors .

Friday
Practice lettering
Doing this practice sheet made me realize which supplies that I need to purchase. Necessity breeds creativity...in most cases, but sometimes you NEED a certain supply to get the job done right. Whatever is truth...I am going shopping for watercolor, pens and markers. (LOL) I have three gift cards left over from Christmas. Whooo Hoooo!Wish me well as I learn to embrace my handwriting and doodling.Materials:
Water pen
Sakura jelly roll pen
Sakura glaze pens
At You Spica pens
pigma micron .01 and .08
Inkssentials white opaque pen
Sharpie permanent marker
Zig paint pen

Monday
Snow Bird Water Color
Now I have played with watercolor crayons before, but this is my first watercolor painting. I took a class at the library. It was fun and I learned some great techniques. I liked that all the students created something different. Watercolor...what a great medium!
Some of my classmates' projects
Here is my finished card.
This class was fun. The most challenging part was trying to determine how much water to use. My brush was too wet most of the time. I hope I get the hang of it soon. I tried to get the instructor to give me the sample so I could pass it off as mine(LOL). I almost had her convinced...then one by one the other students wanted me to mail the picture to them when I finished. Imagine that! hahhaha Seriously, seeing the sample definitely gives me inspiration and something to strive towards.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you come again soon.
