Doodled hair lady

My online scrap buddy showed some great pieces using the letraset pro markers.  I remembered that I had received a set of promarkers  in a RAK.  I was so inspired by her work that I made this doodled hair lady using the markers.  Check out Marcy's  blog post  here.  She gave me great tips for blending which I hope to incorporate the next time I use the markers.

Zine Swap

Just in case you were wondering: A zine (pronounced “zeen,” like “magazine”) is a self published, small circulation, non commercial booklet or magazine.  Recently I joined a zine swap.  We had to create a zine using one sheet of paper with very little dimension.  The hostess of the swap showed us how to fold the sheet of copy paper to make a little booklet.  There are several ways to make a zine.  The criteria was to hand write or draw, use a quote and original artwork.  Once you make the page then you just photocopy it the number of times you need for distribution (in this case the swap-20 people).  Here is the unfolded page:

Pages in my 'Homeland Security' themed zine.  Not as in protection from terrorist, but the security of having a safe, affordable, decent house to live in.
Sentiment: only God can make                                                              Sentiment: Why Not In My Back
a house a home so heaven help the home                                                                 Yard?

Zines I received in the swap

The quote I used in my zine:  "What is the use of a house if you haven't got a tolerable planet to put it on?" Henry David Thoreau

This was a fun swap.  The artwork on all of the zines is just wonderful.

Box/holder

An Easter basket? A craft supply holder?  A desk top catch all?  I made this little box at a recent crop.  I plan to use it as a place setting at one of my home fellowships. I think filled with goodies to coordinate with the party theme will be kind of cute.  Now to remember how to make it!  LOL

Wednesday

Inspired by FB

A fellow scrapbooker posted this type of card on Facebook.  So, I pulled out my scraps and  made a twist turn card for my former co-worker's birthday.  I hope she likes it.

It holds a gift card and fits in a standard A2 envelopeThis might just be addictive.

Put a bird on it...

Here is another art journal page I made using gelatos.  Among some of my online scrap buddies whenever someone is stumped with a project or makes a mistake...we say "put a bird on it!"  (LOL)  This bird was done on purpose.
