Crocheted flowers

I have been crocheting for some time off and on.  Mostly blankets, afghans, and scarfs.  I even teach basic stitches and how to make hair accessories to the girls in my neighborhood.  So why in the world had I never tried making flowers?  I have watched a few tutorials, but I found this project too complicated and overwhelming.  Then my online friend posted a video and the flowers that she made.  So, I am awake at 2a.m. trying this project.  Once I got the hang of it, I just kept making them.  Here are my results.

Thanks for the post, the inspiration and encouragement Nedine!

These are her flowers.  They are lovely!

Criss Cross Card for Dad to be

This was done for a father to be, it's not overly masculine, but at least I didn't put flowers on the card.  (LOL)
The card is made from scraps.
I received the pp in a RAK.
Ribbon from stash.
I used blue staples on the red ribbon pull tab.
Stickles.

Diaper Cake

I changed up my stuffed animal topper design.  Well actually, I couldn't find one in my stash...so necessity led to creativity.  The mittens and socks are stuffed with fiber fill and attached with half a wooden skewer.  The head is a diaper stuffed with fiber fill also.

Before I packaged it I decided to display the pacifier this way.  There is a bottle brush and teething ring propped up in back of the head. I just inserted the binky in a little slit that I cut into the disposable diaper. There are bottles and snack cups filled with blue and white candy (peppermint pattie pieces) in the center.  In the end I liked it and so did the mom and dad to be.

Thanks for visiting!  Come again soon.
