Never Alone

There are several scriptures in the Christian bible that express how God will never leave us. I especially like Joshua 1:9 - "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest".  I kept singing the song "Never Alone."  That resulted in this mixed media canvas with the dimensional flowers and butterflies.  I think the sentiment says it all...we may be by ourselves, but with God we are never alone.

Watercolor

Playing around with generic brand watercolors
I made this.

My friend called and said she NEEDED some girlfriend time doing something creative.  I invited her to come over to my studio.  Here is what she came up with.  I told her next time she comes over I will pull out the better water colors for her lol. I really like her painting.  She also did some journaling expressing her feelings at the moment.  It was definitely time well spend bonding relaxing and creating.

Thanks for looking.

Teacup birthday card

Here is a birthday card.  I love the color and I found that paper in my scrap bin.  It seems like I am always using scraps.  I bet you are wondering if I ever use whole sheets of paper.  Well of course I do...that is how I get the scraps lol

Birthday Canvas

New blog location coming soon...

...until then I have a canvas to share.  I made it for my friend's birthday.  I hope she likes it.

If it ain't broke...

I have made a version of this sympathy card before.  I really like the image of the skunk from the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge. (say that 5 times-lol).  Often times when we lose a loved one we get a massive flux of sympathy cards and a lot of people rally around us.  Then some time later the visits, dinners, well wishes and cards stop coming. sometimes we feel alone, like we should just get over our loss.  There is no time limit on memories.  Some memories make us laugh and others make us cry.  I know first hand that there are days that are just plain ole' STINKY.  So that is the idea behind this card.  Sentiment: When life stinks...smell the flowers.

I received the cuts to layer about 20 of these skunk images.  So I can make a variation of this card many times. That was a very thoughtful RAK. It is wonderful that my online buddy was listening close enough one day when I must have expressed how much I liked the skunk-lol how amazing.  It is wonderful how seemingly idle 'scrap chat' can turn into a craft that may uplift others.  Thanks for your kindness Helen!
