Healing Art

At the ninth hour I decided to submit a project in the blog hop challenge for Jackson Digital Expressions.  I wanted to use the digital image of the mother and daughter hugging that I chalked like a rainbow.  I had intended the image for a card, but I changed my mind and it wound up in my pile of digital images. Before I knew it I was painting and crying and collaging and crying and doodling and crying.  I ended up with an art journal page.  I can't say that I love this piece, but it was very healing.  The picture is of my mother who passed away suddenly this past September.  I was thinking halo, angel wings, rainbows and hugs.  Here is what I came up with:

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come again soon.

  1. Tina ~ You did just make the deadline...and so glad you did! Art can really help heal...when you can get lost in the process of creating and then come out with such a wonderful tribute to someone so special to you...well...what better reward. I know you commented at my blog My Creative THERAPY...and yes it is therapy for me sometimes too! Your mom had such a sweet smile, just like you! Thanks for joining us at JDE for our 1st challenge and I hope you join us for future challenges (and therapy).

    Big Hugs!!
