This is a really cool RAK.  And truly from a secret service scrapper (LOL)  I like the paper line too.  These 6 x 6 paper pads are the perfect size for making cards.

WOOOOOWEEEEE!

I have been in the house all day and feeling kinda blah and having some increased pain.  In spite of the pain, I was going stir crazy; so I said to my dog, Dugan, let's go outside for a bit and get some fresh air.  He headed straight down the wheelchair ramp and into the backyard while I waited on the landing.  Then I saw a package sitting on the railing.  I thought: this must belong to my neighbors, I better call them.  Then I saw that the package was addressed to me.  I could not imagine...it must be some kind of mistake.  Then I thought: hurry up Dugan and go potty so I can get inside to open this box. (LOL)

What a cool gift.  I never heard of a zink hAppy.  I have no idea who sent it to me, but I do have my suspicions, (LOL)  Thank you, thank you, thank you.  And a humble thanks to the ultimate gift giver for putting people in my life who really care and pour into my crafting and into my spirit.  Thank you LORD.  I am going to read the quick start guide and idea book right now.  I am so blessed.

TP mini

Here is a TP mini that I made for a fellow online crafter.  He mentioned wanting a Valentine's Day TP roll mini.  I tried to oblige but soon realized that I did not have much Valentine themed embellishments.  I hope he was not too disappointed receiving an incomplete album and was able to further decorate the mini album and make it his own.

Encouragement book from 1 piece of 12 x12 paper

An online scrap buddy, Deltra, sent a video to me about making this mini.  It is kind of straight forward, a precursor to the TP roll mini.  The dimensions were a little bit unclear so in an effort to share the correct dimensions with my friend I decided to make the mini along with the video.  I used all scraps and products from my stash.  The 12 x 12 piece of paper was already cut and sent to me a while ago in a RAK- Thanks Trina!  I decided to make this for my girlfriend who is having a rough time right now.  I know the scriptures and encouraging sentiments will feed her spirit.  God promises that His word "...it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."  Isaiah 55:11

Dress Form Calendar

I was on the SOC .ning network and the question was brought up as to whether we used kits.  All of the ladies chatting at that time had gotten kits from scrapbook conventions, ordered online or made up themselves.  Everyone said that they had good intentions to make them, but several of the kits we had were not used.  We began wondering what we could do to prompt the use of the kits.  We ended up all agreeing to do a kit over the weekend.  Thanks for the challenge Princess!

This was sort of a kit.  Last year I received the dress form chipboard cuts, lace, book ring, and the paper dress form cuts as a RAK.  I finished off the kit with some simple embellishments and a calendar.

What a RAK!

Perhaps some of you know that I still use the original sizzix for die cutting and embossing.  I was so elated when I received this RAK from my friend and online scrap buddy.  Thanks for your thoughtfulness Helen!  I have been using cuttlebug embossing folders like crazy.  The Texture Boutique sure beats using that dinosaur sizzix.  I love my new tool.  Helen also sent a box of goodies.  I was like pearls, and tags, and ribbon OH MY!!!! (LOL)  Everything in the box will be put to good use.  Thanks again!

Scraplifting gone wild!

A while back I received a RAK.  It was a pink ATG gun. Love it!http://parablesproductions.blogspot.com/2011/03/have-special-day.html

I thought I would decorate it like I saw online.  This one lady made hers look like Hello Kitty.  It was fabulous!  I love Hello Kitty.  I worked on it at a recent crop.  The lady sitting next to me said "...that doesn't look like Hello Kitty, that is not even the shape of her face..."  Good thing that lady was my buddy, otherwise I might have had her disappeared (LOL) 

However, this project was more difficult than I imagined.  The rhinestones did not line up properly, I couldn't get the whiskers on the right angle, the eyes are too close together...just a total, sticky mess.  I think I got impatient and just started gluing down bling any and everywhere; and ended up with some unfilled spaces.  Perhaps I can fill the spaces with smaller rhinestones or glitter.  I have the 'Hello Kitty' cricut cartridge, but there didn't seem to be an option to just cut the bow without cutting the entire face.  I ended up drawing the bow free hand.  Oh, do not get me wrong,  I AM STILL GOING TO USE THE ATG...and love every minute of it.  I made clothes for my niece's Hello Kitty stuffed toy without a pattern, but I guess I needed a pattern for this project (LOL).  Oh well.  Here is the finished project:

My first dotee inspired doll

So I keep seeing these dotee dolls.  They are supposed to only be swapped or given away, but it seems like I have seen them for sale before.   

What is a dotee doll?

A dotee is a type of small handmade fabric doll ranging in size from 3-7 inches. They have a face, tail and hanger with no arms or legs. The tail and body of the doll may be decorated with various items like ribbons and beads. Dotee dolls were originally created by Dorothy Christian.  I have clicked on so many links to her blog only to see a bunch of polka dot items and NOTHING about the dolls. So instead of me posting the useless link and cause you the same frustration...just remember Google is your friend. lol 

Here's my take on the craft.

I like to think of my dangles as legs.

Thanks to my online friends

These are a couple of greeting cards that I received from my online friends recently.  When I first receive cards (RAK's, swap thank you's, gifts)  I have them displayed on my dining room table.  When the kids in my neighborhood stop by that is the first thing they see.  They admire the cards and gifts just like I do.  They are always so amazed when I tell them what states the items came from and that I have never met these ladies or men in person.  The other day a little boy asked me "Miss Tina, why do people who don't know you give you stuff...it must be because you are a good citizen..."  How thoughtful was that!  ( I was just going to say because folks are kind and want to do nice things) I took that as a teaching moment...helping them to realize that their hearts and actions can go far beyond their front yards.  And that they, too were good citizens, friends, and neighbors.

I love how the generosity and thoughtfulness of my online friends has blessed me and brightened my days.  I am so grateful that your kindness reached beyond me to a wonderful bunch of kids.  What a wonderful gift, to be a vessel in the pay it forward journey.  My friend Angie instructs her blog viewers to 'craft it forward'...and that is what we are all doing.  Love it! 

I have not captured it in pictures, but I am sooooooooooo honored and thankful for my online buddies who send me e-mails and leave comments.  I look forward to those words of inspiration, encouragement and affirmation.  In my mind those are gifts too.  I truly appreciate all the various expressions of love. Warm fuzzy!

RAK for neighborhood kids

I made a bunch of these dogs for the kids in my neighborhood.  I used brown and tan cardstock.  Under the ear it says "Have a nice day!" with a smiley face sticker.  There is a tic-tac-toe game under the other ear.  The inside is filled with silly bands.  The back has a little blurb about sharing and giving.  The children have been doing really good about helping the neighbors with little things like putting away trash cans, picking up paper etc.  They have a lot to learn about community and doing the right thing just because and not only when they are prompted by someone else.  I just want to keep them encouraged.

The back says:

SHARE and GIVE

No matter what you have you can always share it

The heart that you have when you give to others

Is like the heart that God has when He gives to you

Only His heart is BIGGER!

When you give something, do not expect anything in return

Just give because you want to show someone love

What a RAK!  The card said "Have a special day" and boy did I!  I was so pleased to get this in the mail.  My fellow scrapping sister sent this to me.  She admitted having gotten it for me a while ago.   Think I should tell her about the RAK's that have been in my car since Christmas?  LOL We all have good intentions and I believe that nothing is better than a good deed, but I am learning that there is also real value in the positive thoughts that one exudes when they have well meaning intentions.  I want to get better at acting timely on good ideas and intentions, but thank God for His mercy as I grow.  I am so grateful for this lovely act of kindness and truly it was right on time.  Now to decorate it...I'll let you see as soon as I have an idea.
