Here is an outdoor wreath.  Those are fabric flowers made with Afri-centric printed fabric.

The grapevine wreath is recycled from a Goodwill find.

Here are some gifts that I made during the Christmas season.

Painted glasses

I tried my hand at painting glasses.  I used to do similar crafts back in the day.  I would decorate mason jars, vases etc.  Was I this terrible...people brought those crafts.  Perhaps none of us knew any better or somewhere along the line I lost my skill of painting on glass (LOL).  Where here goes the share and if you tell anyone what you saw...I will have you...uhhh...let's just say...I know people...so watch your back (LOL)

Let me just say that my paint was old, my brushes were worn...not buying those reasons?  Well that is my story and I am sticking with it-so there.  ROTFLOL!!!!

Catching up

I have been away for a few weeks.  I was in the hospital two times.  Once with a ruptured appendix and then with neurological dysfunction believed to be the second episode of MS.  Only time will tell.  I am so thankful to God for allowing me to live.  There are so many miracles and testimonies within this whole journey; it is evident that God was watching over me the whole time.  THANK YOU!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!

So as I recover the next few blog posts will be stuff I created, but never blogged about along with some new projects.

Paper pieced pouch

I made this for the informal Twitter weekly card challenge.  I put a pen in the pouch for the photo.  I plan to put some sweet treats inside and give it as a "Have a nice day" gift.

2 pocket gift card holder

My friend Kathy taught the Scrappy Chicks (the scrappers that meet at her house each week) to make this 2 pocket card using a 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper.  I used the same fold  to make a smaller card to hold a tag and a gift card.  

I used paper from a RAK (thanks Trina!)  The house embossed paper used on the tag was appropriate as the gift was going to my fellow housing advocate.

Gift card holder

I saw this on Pinterest.  I have not quite figured things out.  I see something that I want to make, but rarely can I find a link to a tutorial.  I only get connected to folks who pinned the item before.  I usually end up making my own version of the project.  This time was different.  Caroline made this gift card holder present, and I was inspired to try the project.

I used scrap paper and a brad & ribbon that I received in a RAK.

WOOOOOWEEEEE!

I have been in the house all day and feeling kinda blah and having some increased pain.  In spite of the pain, I was going stir crazy; so I said to my dog, Dugan, let's go outside for a bit and get some fresh air.  He headed straight down the wheelchair ramp and into the backyard while I waited on the landing.  Then I saw a package sitting on the railing.  I thought: this must belong to my neighbors, I better call them.  Then I saw that the package was addressed to me.  I could not imagine...it must be some kind of mistake.  Then I thought: hurry up Dugan and go potty so I can get inside to open this box. (LOL)

What a cool gift.  I never heard of a zink hAppy.  I have no idea who sent it to me, but I do have my suspicions, (LOL)  Thank you, thank you, thank you.  And a humble thanks to the ultimate gift giver for putting people in my life who really care and pour into my crafting and into my spirit.  Thank you LORD.  I am going to read the quick start guide and idea book right now.  I am so blessed.

WOW!

On a recent visit my surrogate brother came bearing gifts.  He ordered me not to make a big deal over him, so I will not post his picture.  Now, my brother loves to cook and he has every kitchen gadget under the sun.  He gives me stuff for my kitchen too.  So he comes in with this big ole' box.  In the box there are many other boxes.  I got a rice cooker, a pressure cooker, a knife set, food thermometer, and knife sharpener.  I also got this blenderfoodprocesser like thing called the Ninja-  my brother was like "...you never heard of the ninja...where have you been?"  Let me just say...that thing is a beast!  I love it.  He had already instructed me to "...open this box last..."  When I opened the box it was a notebookipadtablet thingy!!!!  Wow!  See I have a desktop and usually haul craft supplies in my office to work on a project while watching USTREAM shows. Now I can  watch craft videos in my craft room or when I am really sick and have to stay in bed.  What a thoughtful and helpful gift.

I was also instructed not to cry, but I snuck off into the office and let out tears of joy.  What did I ever do to deserve such kindness.  The best gift was him telling me "..I just wanted to pour into you sometimes since you spend a lot of time pouring into others..."  Talk about give me my flowers while I am living.

I love all my gifts.  I love my brother...words cannot say how much. I do not love him because he looks out for me and gives me cool gifts, but I love him just because. 

And on top of that: while I was in the office I checked the e-mail and discovered that SOMEONE had paid my fee to attend an online class.  I am most grateful to the secret service giver (lol).  The tears of joy and thankfulness started to flow all over again.

Friend of a friend

I made three one page paper bag albums for my friend.  One for each of the three dogs she has had in her adult life.   She liked them so much that she asked me to make an album for her friend.    The photos she sent fit better in a different kind of mini album.  This is what I came up with:

It is a 6 x 6 mini made from one sheet of card stock.  The way it folds it actually sits up like a picture frame.

Hanging Jewelry Box

I have made this type of jewelry holder for some time now.  Unfortunately, my hands hurt so bad that this will probably be the last one I make.  Screwing in the hooks is just to taxing.  The electric drill is no good for starting the holes as it gets caught on the fabric.  Ahhhh gotta love getting older and having carpal tunnel (LOL)

Gingerbread dough

I got this idea from the ladies at my Thursday scrap group.  It is the ideal gift for the person who has everything.

 

The poem says: 

Gingerbread men with yummy icing
are oh so good and extremely enticing
I set out to make a dozen or two
but ran out of time. oh what do I do

So instead of the cookies I tied a bow
your own personal serving of holiday dough!

I changed a few of the words, but you get the gist of the pun.  This gift was adored by the recipient although he refused to open and use the money. 

The gingerbread mad is a cricut cut.  The rest is all scraps.

I went crazy making these little candy holders.  I gave them out everywhere...the post office, the town office, the chiropractor, the grocery store--I mean EVERYWHERE!  Boy was that fun just to see people's faces light up with surprise.

I decided to do another challenge from the Scraps of Color .ning site.  This time we had to make a wish list.  My Christmas wish list:

1. To be healthier physically, mentally and spiritually
2. to have enough money to be a philanthropist (all my craft buddies get craft room makeovers -lol)
3. to have a kitchen and bathroom ADA makeover
4. for my dog to stop itching
5. for my family and friends to live joyfully and PEACEfully
6. for God to shower protection, wisdom, salvation and blessings upon the children & the families in my circle

The one thing I really want, is a matehusbandlifepartner preferably chocolate, rich and sweet...


I guess these will have to do until the Lord sends me my dream man.   hahahahaha

Get 'er done book mark

I made this bookmark for my friend to encourage her to journal more often and to work on writing her own book.

I tried an alcohol ink background technique I learned from RachO113.  Ironically, I have been chatting with her on various USTREAM shows and watching her USTREAM.  DUH!  I have been watching her YouTube videos all along...never knew it was the same Rach. LOL.

Birthday Collage Card

Look what I received in the mail!!!  Happy birthday to me!!!!!! It is from one of my non-scrapping friends.  We all have an artist inside of us just busting to get out.  It is wonderful being created in God's image...by design we are all creative in some way.  Love it!

There is so much detail to look at on this page.  The butterflies make me think of "Changed" by Tremaine Hawkins...been singing that all weekend.

The back of the card.  Just reminds me to F.R.O.G.-Fully Rely On God and the the LORD is my shepherd!

I did scream loud when I opened the card!  Sentiment in the glass: Laugh until you tinkle (LOL)

Money holder card

It is 5:00 a.m. and I am awake...I made this card for my friend and co-worker.  Even with sleep deprivation I remembered to recycle.  I am always reminded to do so when I make something for this friend.  She is the queen of recycle and really is an encouragement to me to do the same.  The card is made from all scraps and a brown paper bag.  It looks just like craft card stock, only cheaper lol!
