Reflecting...

My Mother suddenly passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011.  I do not see this as a particularly sad post, although my heart is sad.  As scrapbookers we are telling stories by documenting our memories.  An online buddy of mine reminded me that we must scrap the good times as well as the not so good times.  And death is a part of life...so I plan to do some storytelling about the loss of my mom in some future layouts.  In the meantime, here is a really simple LO I did a while ago...

The poem says..
Mama Smell
by Tina Riley © 2000

Mama smell is sweet like flowers
I remember every moment and I will cherish every hour

Where do I begin where do I start
You were my first friend so I’ll speak from the heart

You taught me to sing, to sew, to write, everything
I could never put into words how much you really mean

Remember doing my hair and dreaming from a book?
You instilled in me hope and how to have a positive outlook

You introduced me to God and for that I am really grateful
You always said to be kind and not be hateful

I could talk forever about you and all that you have been
You’ve been my mother, my sister, my father, my friend

I could never repay you for what you’ve done-or for what you do
So I give you all I have—that is my promise to always love you

Mama smell is sweet like flowers
I remember every moment and I will cherish every hour

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back again.
