Summertime and the Scrapping is Easy Day # 30, 31 and 32

You may have realized by now that I like the challenge of combining things.  So I combined the next three assignments.  Make a library pocket, use a picture on a card, use stencil, paint or mist to make a background.

These were all made using scraps.  The tag is stenciled and misted with  pictures of my dog, Dugan..  The tag inserts inside the library pocket to complete a thank you for his dog sitter.  The message is on the back of the tag.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come again soon.

Saturday

collaged tags

I made these tags for a mini album.  In addition to paper or fabric I am attempting to use paint on my collage pieces.  I plan to keep practicing.

I used scrap pieces of paper, washi tape, (red, black, silver and white) acrylic paint.  I tied scrap fibers and fabric onto each tag (that will be shown in the next post- with the finished tag album).

Also entered in the SOC sistah/brotha blogger's challenge #7.   It is a color challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come again soon

Monday

Fall Tag Swap

These are the tags I received in a recent swap.  The Scrappy Chicks crop every Thursday. I have an opportunity to attend sporadically, but I lucked out and got into this swap.

Thanks: Kathy, Barb, Pet,Carol, JoAnn, and Mary

Gratitude IS a LOVE attitude!  I am grateful for all my artsy friends.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come again soon.

Wednesday

Fall Tags

I made these tags for a swap.  They are CAS (Clean and Simple) according to me.  I used a technique that I learned from Rubber Cottage several years ago.  I had forgotten how to do the stippling onto a glossy tag.  Then I found a blog post, then I lost it so I am unable to provide a link (sorry). I had all the supplies on hand because I purchased them at the Stamp Scrap and Art Tour many years ago with the intention of creating tags that I learned at a make and take hosted by Rubber Cottage.  Crafters REALLY do eventually use their stash (LOL).

Materials: Glossy tags, gold leaf pen, studio G stamps, beads, beading wire, ribbon, stickles, Adirondack inks, archival ink.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come again soon.

Thursday

Scratch Art

I tried this technique on a tag.  It is done by coloring the whole tag with different colors of oil pastels.  Then covering the whole thing with black oil pastel.  Then using a stencil and wooden skewer the black is scratched off revealing the color underneath.  The tag is then sealed with gel medium.  It was fun, but I definitely want to try it using a more detailed stencil and a larger canvas.

Materials:
shipping tag
fiber from stash
oil pastels
TH crown and flourish masks

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.  I hope you come again soon.

Tag swap

These tags were made for a Christmas tag swap that I participated in recently.  I was able to stamp on the glitter paper with the chalk ink.  I thought that was cool, because I was just playing around when I tried to stamp on a scrap piece of cs.  It is difficult to see in the photo, but there is a 3-D snowflake in the upper left corner of the tag.   All the stamped snowflakes are positioned as if they were flowing from the 3-D one.

I was just thinking that I may have to use stickles and embellish the snowman before I give these away-  Hmmmm...
Materials:
Shipping tags
glitter cs
dimensional snow flake punch
studio G snowman stamp, snowflake
Merry Christmas sentiment stamp
TH distress inks
colorbok chalk ink
tulle

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come again soon.

Tuesday

Tag! You're it!

The 'tag you're it' was a blog challenge issued by my online friend Cheryl.  She is issuing challenges to help keep bloggers posting throughout the busy holidays.  Great idea Cheryl, thanks!  You can check out her blog here.
So, this week we had to make a tag.  I am in a tag swap right now, so I did not want to show my tags before the recipients received them.  Here is one that I made trying to come up with a design for the swap.  It is kind of similar.
Materials:
shipping tag
pearl mist spray
tulle
TH distress inks
snowflake scrap
snowflake stamps
merry Christmas stamp
3-D snowflake punch
stickles

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come again soon.

Friday

Scrappy Gals Tag Swap

It was great to participate in a local swap.  It was nice to fellowship with the swappers face to face and to hear the stories behind the craft.  These are the wonderful tags I received:

Comments L-R:
The stamping is so nice. What a great image!  The chain is a unique idea.

The flower is gorgeous!  The rose pin in the center of the flower is a beautiful touch.

What a great idea!  This really looks like a flag .  The distressing works well with this idea.

This is gorgeous paper!  I love the embossed bird cage and the unique shape of the tag. (Cherish)

Wonderful image!  The envelope for the tag is such a clever idea. (rejoice)

HOPE, what a great message!  The distressing and dry embossing is absolutely beautiful.  (The bird does not sing because it has an answer; it sings because it has a song.)

Great vintage image! The feathers and lace are lovely.  (Love is Patient)

Thanks to Mary, Diane, Faith, JoAnn. Gloria, Kathy, Pet, and Ruby and to little Willow(the dog).  It was a lovely crop and a nice time of fellowship.  Ms Kitty you were truly missed.  See you in Oct.  The tags are truly great.  You ladies do not eat worms at all...you rock! LOL

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come again soon.

Thursday

Tuesday

Tag

Sometimes we look in the mirror and feel blah.  We all need to be encouraged to walk in the truth that we are unique and beautiful.  Psalms 139:14 says: I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.  I pray that I will learn to consistently live the truth.
Sentiment:  Cherish what makes you unique
Materials:
Tag I received in a RAK, it included the sentiment oval and frame
Dress form I received in a RAK
swirls cuddle bug embossing folder
bling
snaps/brads
stickles
chestnut roan colorbox chalk ink
homemade pearl spray
fiber
glossy enamel
copper and silver ink it inks
Rubber necker stamp

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Monday

Tags

I went to a crop with all intentions to work on a specific project...but the hostess was planning to make tags with the group.  So, I said why not.  Here are some of the tags we made.

The Monster Mash

Happy Thanksgiving!
The sentiment says: He who thanks but with the lips thanks in part, the full, the true Thanksgiving comes from the heart. (J.A. Shedd)

Saying goodbye to summer.  I can add a sentiment later
I still did not finish my project. lol
Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Thursday

Tag on Tag Challenge

I used all scraps for this tag.  And of course I am using it for my dog Dugan.  I plan to track his flea treatments on the back of the tag.  This project was for the challenge at the Stampin Dymonz Creative Space blog. Check it out, there was a sketch.

I may add a sentiment on the flower pot or the inside of the tag.  Hmmmmmm.

I drew polka dots on the flower to cover up an ink blotch.  No mistakes in scrapbooking...lol

There is a picture of Dugan playing with his stuffed rabbit on a tag inside the file folder.  The mini tags on the other side spell out his name.  The pockets for the mini tags were created by floral ribbon and staples.  I can write something funny about Dugan on each tag.

The back of the tag has journaling about his love for that stuffed rabbit.

Materials:
ribbons and fibers from stash
flower punch, flower pot, file folder ( I collected from the trash can at a crop my friend Diane was hosting)
seed beads(the center of the flower)
Kraft card stock scraps
DCWV striped paper scraps
foam tape
photo corners
fiskars mini tag punch
glimmer spray
journaling stamp
blue staples

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Triplicate Trials Tuesday Challenge 2

The theme is cake or cupcakes.  Check out the challenge here: http://triplicatetrials.blogspot.com/2011/06/triplicate-trials-tuesday-ttt2.html

It is difficult to see the bling on this tag.  The stamped sentiment says enjoy life.
